I am running for judge because I believe my experience and skills offer unique qualities to the citizens of Cook County. I have my own law practice specializing in elder law, guardianship, probate and mental health. For the past 15 years, I have had daily courtroom experience fighting for my clients' interests. I understand first hand what works well and less well in the management of a court room. I have been court-appointed hundreds of times as a Guardian Ad Litem, Child Representative or attorney for a party in matters involving children, mental health, chancery, probate, guardianship, and adoption. I dedicate numerous hours to pro bono clients.

Prior to becoming an attorney, I served the neediest people in the community as a Registered Nurse. Throughout my professional careers, I have worked hard and have developed a core of knowledge and experience unique among judicial candidates. I couple legal knowledge with a compassionate and caring approach to help people work through their everyday problems. I understand the nexus between the civil and criminal sides of abuse, neglect and exploitation. I understand the value of a court system that protects the vulnerable of all age groups -- from the infant to the senior citizen -- while at the same time giving legal support to their family and friends who are trying to do the right thing.

I have been found highly recommended, qualified and recommended by all the Bar Associations, and I am an active member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations. I am also an active member of the American and Illinois Nurses Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Further, I have been an adjunct professor at DePaul University College of Law for 11 years teaching the Elder Law course.

The judicial system serves all members of the community, and the life and professional experiences of a judge should be suitable to address the diverse problems of the citizenry. I stand on a unique platform, and I ask for your support because I understand citizens' day-to-day issues.
