CANDIDATE:

JOHN G. DALTON

CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF:

RESIDENT JUDGE, 16TH CIRCUIT, KANE COUNTY, ADDITIONAL JUDGESHIP A

NOVEMBER 2, 2010 ELECTION:

2010 ILLINOIS GENERAL ELECTION

CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I'm running for Kane County Resident Judge, because the people of Kane County deserve to have judges they can rely on to uphold the integrity of the law. As Kane County Resident Judge, I will use my experience as an arbitrator and a trial attorney to render fair and independent decisions.

I will work hard to protect the rights of Kane County citizens, remaining a fair and independent voice for the people. I will use my background as an arbitrator for 10 years and trial attorney for 22 years, to preserve a safe and just community.

I believe that serving as judge is an opportunity to give back to the people of Kane County. I will work hard to implement practices that save time and money, including implementing an on-line system that would allow residents to pay traffic fines, seek court supervision or request a trial date without having to appear in court.

I will not accept campaign contributions from lawyers or organizations representing lawyers. Taking contributions from lawyers creates a conflict of interest. Those same lawyers may appear before me in court, and that’s not ethical. The citizens of Kane County have the right to a fair trial and an impartial judge. Accepting contributions from attorneys would bring my independence and integrity into question.

On November 2, 2010, I ask that you vote John G. Dalton for Kane County Resident Judge.
